I’ll be honest with you. A lot of the stuff I see floating around about AI and SEO these days? It’s either way too simple or just plain wrong.
Every week someone sends me a “new hack” – generate 500 articles with ChatGPT, rank them all, sit back and count the money. That worked for about five minutes in 2023. Then Google woke up.
We’ve been doing SEO for clients across Pakistan, Qatar, and the US long enough to see patterns. And the pattern right now is this: AI isn’t killing SEO, but lazy use of AI definitely is.
So let me share what we’ve learned at HR92 after cleaning up messes caused by over‑automation and helping a few sites actually grow.
Stop making AI write everything
Seriously. Just stop.
AI is amazing at one thing – saving you time on the boring stuff. Research. Outlines. Finding questions people actually ask but nobody answers. That’s where it shines.
What it’s terrible at? Sounding like a real human who’s done the work.
I was looking at a competitor’s blog last week. Every paragraph had the same length. Every sentence was perfectly polite. No opinions. No stories. No “here’s what happened when we tried this.” It was like reading an instruction manual written by a robot that had never touched a keyboard.
Guess how long those posts stayed on page one? About two months. Then Google flushed them.
The sites that are winning now – they use AI for the grunt work, then bring in actual people to add the weird, interesting, sometimes contradictory stuff that only a human would write.
The real game changer no one talks about
Everyone’s obsessed with content generation. But the smartest SEOs I know are using AI for something else entirely – technical cleanup.
Example: we had a client with a 15,000 page e‑commerce site. Broken internal links everywhere, old product pages that led nowhere, duplicate descriptions that made Google confused. Going through that manually? Would have taken months.
We fed the site structure into a custom AI workflow (not a public chatbot – our own thing). It flagged exactly where the problems were within a weekend. Our team spent the next two weeks fixing only the high‑impact issues. Traffic jumped 34% in three months without writing a single new article.
That’s the stuff that works. Not more fluff – fewer leaks.
One thing I wish more business owners understood
Google doesn’t care how you made the content. I know that sounds obvious, but people act like there’s a robot police scanning every word for AI fingerprints. There isn’t. Google cares about whether someone reading your page feels like they learned something or got their problem solved.
So instead of asking “is this AI written?” ask “is this actually useful?”
We rewrote an old service page for a client in Lahore – a page about local SEO for dentists. No fancy AI. Just picked up the phone, called three of his actual customers, asked what they searched for before booking an appointment. Turned those conversations into a page that answered real questions like “do I need a cleaning first” and “how much does invisalign actually cost in DHA”.
That page now outranks every clinic directory in the city. Not because of keywords. Because it answered things people were actually typing.
A quick checklist if you’re feeling stuck
If you’ve been using AI for SEO and you’re not seeing results, here’s what I’d check first:
- Are you publishing more but ranking less? That’s a sign of low‑value content.
- Have you looked at your internal links in the last six months? Probably not – most people forget.
- Do your blog posts have any opinion in them? Any stance? Or are they just neutral lists of facts?
- When’s the last time you updated a page from 2022 instead of writing a brand new one?
Honestly, the last one is where we see the biggest wins. Google loves fresh, but it also loves old pages that suddenly got better. Take an old post, add a new section, swap out old stats, make it more useful. That’s way smarter than starting from zero.
What HR92 actually does differently
We don’t sell a magic AI button. We don’t promise “10,000 visitors overnight.” That’s not how this works.
What we do is pretty straightforward – we take our experience (from real campaigns, not case study templates) and mix it with the right tools, AI included, to move the needle. Sometimes that means writing. Sometimes it means fixing your site speed or your local listings. Sometimes it means telling a client “don’t write that post, it’s a waste of time.”
We have offices in Lahore, Doha, and Miami – so we’ve seen how SEO plays out in different markets. What works in Pakistan isn’t always the same as what works in Florida. But the fundamentals? Those stay the same.
If you want to talk, here’s how to reach us: I’m not going to promise a free audit that’s actually just a sales pitch. But if you’re running a business and you feel like your SEO is stuck – like you’re writing and nothing’s changing – shoot us a message through the contact page on hr92.com.
Mention you read this post. We’ll take a quick look at your site, point out two or three things that are probably hurting you right now, and you can decide if it’s worth going further.
No pressure. Just the kind of conversation I wish I’d had years ago when I was learning this stuff.
